Hey guys, I know I have been rather slack with my blogging lately but I have some exciting news!
I AM MOVING TO LONDON THIS SATURDAY!!! :D
Pretty exciting hey? ;)

So basically I got a job as an Au Pair (basically a live in Nanny) with a family in Central London. I will be living with them and looking after their 3 children for 8 months during my gap year.

I am really excited to go overseas to Europe for the first time in my life and live in one of the greatest cities on earth! :D
And, if everything works out, travel around Europe to countries like Italy, Ireland, Austria, France, Germany and Greece.

But its also pretty nerve wracking. Not only do I have to leave my family and all my friends (trying to survive without them is going to all but break my heart), but I am also basically leaving everything I have ever known to fly halfway across the world, to a completely new country to live with people I have only talked to a handful of times and be expected to look after their kids. To be honest I am kinda freaking out.

I am worried about the flight and whether I will get confused or lost at the airport, I am nervous about meeting the family in person for the first time and whether it will be awkward and if the kids will even like me. I am worried about whether I will be good at looking after the little boy and whether the older girls will even want to hang out with me. I am anxious about not being much help around the house and not living up to expectations or struggling or screwing up. Basically I am worried that I will suck at his job and feel unwelcome or awkward with the family.

Despite all the things I am nervous about I am also looking forward to a lot. Going overseas and traveling is my dream and I am really excited about getting my first true taste at travel. I am excited about being in a new place, meeting new people and making friends. I am excited about experiencing a different culture and being able to walk around, looking at the sights, sounds and attractions of such an amazing city. I am looking forward to walking the streets early in the morning, building a snow man and having snow ball fights, shopping in the malls, visiting historical sights and monuments and seeing musicals. I am thrilled at the thought of being so close to some of the most amazing places in Europe like Ireland and France and I am so glad that I have friends and relatives I can visit.

I am ready to go it alone and move out of home, to test my limits and see how I fare without the help of my parents. I am looking forward to learning more about myself, my talents, abilities and passion and hopefully coming out the end with a better idea of what I want to do with my life. I am hoping to try my hand at some serious writing, and spend time just on myself, giving my body and mind some much needed rest and TLC, for once having the opportunity to put myself first.

I know this trip with be hard at times and it will present challenges and trials that I will have to endure and overcome, but I know I will come out the end a better and wiser person because of them. Despite the hard work I also know that this is the trip of a lifetime, a chance to have fun, relax, free my mind and explore both myself and the fantastic world around me.

I am both ridiculously excited and horribly terrified for the adventures, trials, joy and suffering of the next 9 months. This is it guys, I can feel it, the next faze of my life is starting and boy is it shaping up to be AMAZING! :D
